Inhibition of Cyclooxygenase-2 Alters Craniofacial Patterning during Early Embryonic Development of Chick

چکیده

A recent study from our lab revealed that the inhibition of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) exclusively reduces level PGE2 (Prostaglandin E2) among prostanoids and hampers normal development several structures, strikingly cranial vault, in chick embryos. In order to unearth mechanism behind deviant features, expression pattern various factors are known influence neural crest cell (CNCC) migration was checked embryos after inhibiting COX-2 activity using etoricoxib. The compromised adhesion molecules their upstream regulators, namely CDH1 (E-cadherin), CDH2 (N-cadherin), MSX1 (Msh homeobox 1), TGF-β (Transforming growth factor beta), observed etoricoxib-treated indicate COX-2, through its downstream effector PGE2, regulates these perhaps aid CNCCs. histological features levels FoxD3 (Forkhead box D3), as well PCNA (Proliferating nuclear antigen), further consolidate role survival CNCCs developing results current plays a pivotal orchestrating craniofacial structures by modulating CNCC proliferation during embryonic chicks.

CXCL14 expression during chick embryonic development.

Chemokines are small secreted signalling molecules best known for their roles as chemoattractants for cells of the immune system. CXCL12 and its receptor CXCR4 comprise one chemokine signalling pathway with essential functions in non-immune cell types during embryonic development. CXCL14, a chemokine-encoding gene related to CXCL12, is developmentally regulated in zebrafish and Xenopus embryos,...

Noggin4 expression during chick embryonic development.

We describe here the expression pattern of Noggin4 during the early development of the chick embryo (Gallus gallus). The expression of this gene starts with the onset of gastrulation (stage HH4), in two bilateral bands along the primitive streak, with a local maximum around Hensen's node. By the end of gastrulation, Noggin4 transcripts are distributed diffusely throughout the epiblast, with the...

P-88: Assessing Expression Changes of Some Wnt Pathway Genes During Goat Early Embryonic Development

Background: The developmental competency of embryos is affected by several factors, including the developmental pathways and their elements. In mammalian species including goat, fertilized oocyte undergoes several divisions to form a structure called blastocyst. These events depend on the successful control of temporal and spatial expression of genes involved in genome activation. One of the cr...

Expression of DLX5 during human embryonic craniofacial development

Dlx (distal-less gene) homeogenes encode transcription factors that are involved in the patterning of orofacial skeleton derived from cephalic neural crest cells. In order to study the role of DLX genes during embryonic development in human, DLX5 expression pattern was investigated in 6- to 11-week-old human embryos. A DLX5 PCR fragment was amplified from a human dental cDNA library subcloned a...

Expression of an engrailed-like gene during development of the early embryonic chick nervous system.

The engrailed gene has been identified in Drosophila as an important developmental gene involved in the control of segmentation. Here we describe the embryonic expression of a chicken gene, ChickEn (Darnell et al.: J Cell Biol 103(5):311a, 1986), which contains homology to the Drosophila engrailed gene. Northern blots of early chick embryo tissue poly(A)+ RNA resulted in hybridization to at lea...
